Middletown, New York - Crossing a field on a farm near Sussex, Hiram Rupture stepped into the hole of a woodchuck and was unable to extricate his foot. The animal rushed to the mouth of the hole and bit the man's leg. Rupture screamed for help. He had about given up hope of relief when several passers-by hurried to his aid. He was not seriously injured.
