My father took this Kodachrome of my mother in 1954 in Riverside (now Windsor) Ontario. My mother trained as a nurse in St. John, New Brunswick, and volunteered as a Nursing Sister in the Canadian military during World War 2. My father enlisted in the Canadian Army and left from Toronto to serve overseas as well. The met in France in 1944 during the Normandy Invasion (D-Day), and were married on 26 July 1945 in Paris, France. They had a short honeymoon in France, returned to their units and were re-united in Canada. Mum was born in 1919 and passed away in 1990, and Dad lives in Toronto at age 91.
