From the partial s/n on the clamshell it is probably a 1953 contracted Douglas C-124C Globemaster II See

Old Shakey

I rode one of those from Oahu out to Johnston Atoll in 1965. I can remember one of the flight crew giving the safety and emergency briefing before the flight. He said that if we had to ditch at sea to get out as fast as possible because, usually, the clam shells were destroyed when one of these went down in water. It didn't especially give me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

Gee, Dad, it's a Globemaster!

Douglas Aircraft's C-124 Globemaster, called by crews "Old Shakey".
