My mother, brother, and I are waiting as the Southern Pacific passenger train pulls into what was then the Hillsdale Station, just outside of San Mateo, CA. (It's now a Caltrain station.)
My father worked in San Francisco at the time and used to take the commuter train to and from work. I started to write that we were probably picking him up at the station, but he's the one that snapped the picture! Taken on Anscochrome film, August 1959.
