Horsemanship is High Class.

Washington society folk ventured past the bounds of conventionality yesterday long enough to properly enjoy their annual circus and frolic at the Riding and Hunt Club that more than upheld the slogan of its sponsors, "bigger and better than ever." There were capacity audiences at both matinee and evening performances. …

Then followed a troupe of society leaders as daring bareback riders, Dr. Ryan Devereux acting as ringmaster, Miss Ruth Hitchcock, Miss Ruth Anderson, Mrs. Joseph Viner and Joseph F.S. Devereaux taking turns at riding William P. Eno's Quaker, were followed by another troupe of "phony bareback riders," including Miss Ana Hamlin, Miss Margaret Devereux, Godfrey Macdonald and John Ryan Devereaux. …
