rerere: Separate Feed

Another good idea. I'll look into that. It sounds like something we could add if we put the second shift to work on it.

Re: Re: Separate Feed

While we're requesting features…

How about a separate RSS feed for comments? Many visitors here contribute valuable information and/or remembrances that really enhance visiting this site. I really hate missing some of the comments (as I am sure I do).

Re: Separate Feed

Good idea. This is something we'll be working on immediately and hopefully can have up and running this week.

Separate Feed

The best way to do this would be to create a separate RSS feed for the comics, or else tag the comics and link to a Yahoo Pipes feed w/o the comics.

I thought it looked like

I thought it looked like "Everett True."

Didn't this particular strip

morph into "Maggie and Jiggs" at a later time? The artwork looks very familiar, especially the seated fellow. I remember M & J in the 50's Sunday comics. Jiggs wore spats a lot and was always under wife Maggie's watchful eye.

I have been fascinated by

I have been fascinated by 19th century photographs and 19th-early 20th century culture and daily life since I was a child, so to say that this is one of my favorite sites on the internet would be an understatement.

I visit every day.

Thank you for all the care you put into this site.

A Great Site

As an artist and graphic designer I visit this site every day at work. The inspiration and awe it brings is a boost to me each time I visit. I love peering into the past whether it be photos, comics, ads or whatever. This kind of site is what the internet was invented for - in my opinion.
Thanks for this site and all you do.

Full comics page

If you're interested, here is the full page of comics from the Decatur Evening Herald (Illinois) on January 1, 1927. Note the number of racially offensive strips they ran at the time.

Paid.

If you own the site,
you can post what you want.
:D

life in the past

Vintage comics are part of what life was like in the past. I wouldn't like them to displace the photos, but I doubt there's any danger of that.

I say .....GO FOR IT

in the 13 or 14 weeks I have been coming here I have found nothing that would make me ask anyone "not to post" anything, its all good I look forward to it all each day .

If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything.

Comics?

Another vote for the "do what you want to do" camp. Shorpy is great.

Fantastic Web Site

Shorpy is an amazingly fantastic web site! Keep on keeping on with what you are doing!

[Thanks Larry in Rockledge! Somehow I feel like I know you. - Dave]

Vintage Comix

A vintage comic a day would be awesome!!

Goes to show

Shorpy, It just goes to show that even if you try, there is no way that you are going to please everyone. So please rock on doing what you are doing, however you do it. This site is a daily read for me. It spurs on great creativity.
