Dulles Airport, Northern Virginia, Summer 1982. This is a McDonnell-Douglas F4-C Phantom II, the paragon of 1960s fighter-bomber aircraft. This airframe's service history is unknown. By the time of this image, it was comparatively elderly and relegated to an Air Force reserve outfit. To the right is the tail of a Lockheed C-141 Starlifter transport.
