I have a vivid memory of the interior of the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California which we toured at the time this photo was taken in 1959. The house is huge and filled with stairs dead-ending at the ceiling, doors opening into solid walls, a seance room, closets with no floors, secret passages, and hundreds of other things an impressionable kid like me would remember a half-century later!
