They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

I pointed out Polka-Dot Tot to my wife, indicating that October 1958 is when she was born, and she told me to forget about that and to notice, instead, that the pattern on the little-person rocking chair is identical to the pattern on our big-person rocking chair.
