My grandparents sitting on 16th Street (literally) in Speedway, Indiana a full two days before the running of the 1955 Indianapolis 500 waiting to get in. The car? A 1941 Oldsmobile. The photo isn't the best but conveys how big the event really was. Quite possibly my dad might have taken the pic from standing atop another car.
