Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. (To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

Another photo from 1964 with Gramp's '58 Cadillac (previously seen here) parked at the curb. I thought the Cad had curb feelers but I don't see evidence of them in this photo. That's me and my dad posing for Gramp's camera. I would have been two and dad would have been 34. Looks like he's smoking but that's actually the zipper on his sweater reflecting the sun.
