This is a shot of my grandfather's grocery store in Niagara-on-the Lake, Ontario, which he operated from the time he constructed the building in 1910/1911, until 1962, when he was well into his 80s. He lived in the apartment at the upper right of the building and I fondly recall many visits. Note the distinctly Canadian signage (Robin Hood flour, Player's Cigarettes) and in the front window can be seen his famous banana tree with fruit, covered in a St. Catharines Standard newspaper article of the era. That would be me, as an 8-year-old, sitting on the front step.
