My great-uncle managed numerous Woolworth stores throughout Ohio during the 1920s and 30s. He pioneered the idea of selling live plants at Woolworth's, even after the company told him it would never work. He proved them wrong and the Horticulture Aisle became one of Woolworth's most profitable ventures.
