The big bad wolf is too late

I love this one. For me it evokes a wild forest cat (maybe a lynx) leaping from a tree limb onto the back of its unsuspecting prey. One death bite to the neck and dolly is dinner. Not the effect Mr. Frees intended, I'm sure.

Possessed

Burdened by her incubus, Dolly contemplated a hard life ahead, and one with plenty of back troubles.

I recognize that cat!

What a hard worker. I also recognize the doll as one my great-aunt (b. 1910) grew up with. My folks have the doll and the porcelain work is beautiful.
