The Broadway was an east-west crosstown line that ran from north Minneapolis, across the Broadway bridge over the Mississippi, through the Grain Belt Brewery complex onto 13th Ave. NE, then jogged back again to Broadway to a terminus near Central Ave. This picture was in a collection of family photos I inherited from my parents. Two reasons they might have kept such a photo: my grandmother lived near Broadway and Monroe in NE Mpls.; my uncle Al was a streetcar conductor. I would guess the picture dates from the late 1920's, which was the golden age of light rail in the Twin Cities.
