Another shot of winter in Bedford, Quebec in the late 50s. Here I'm looking proud of myself in the snow fort I built at the foot of our laneway. Living at the edge of a small town, we often went tobogganing on nearby countryside hills and skated until our feet were tingly-numb on the frozen creek that wound its way out of town. As Joni Mitchell sang (a fellow Canadian), "I wish I had a stream I could skate away on" and we did. How lucky we were.
