Kartch's hats for girls

Judging from our family's 1947 photos of mother and grandmother in their Sunday best, I'd say the hat department pictured featured styles intended for young girls and not for adults; another indicator is the youthful-featured hat stands on the counter. As I was born exactly one month to the day before this photo was taken, I was photographed a lot with female family members that winter.
