Canadian Gold

Shame we see these cars from such a distance because in this era "American" manufacturers built different models of cars for the Canadian market. In many cases the differences were very cosmetic such as a different model name and some trim. There may be a Ford Meteor, Pontiac Parisienne, Dodge Viscount or Acadian hidden in that pack. Due to Canada having no sun belt, and lots of harsh winters, the survival ratio of the Canadian only models is low. What a treat it would be to walk those aisles and see those Canadian variations. Even the Edsels built in Canada were different than their American counterparts. Though they did not get different model names, they had completely different serial number patterns, white steering wheels, and sometimes came in colors not offered for their US built brothers.

Gone the way of the Edsel

Saunders-Cook was a Ford-Edsel dealership at 2850 Kingston Rd in Toronto. This looks like it may have been a lot one block west of the main dealership. http://www.edsel.net/states/on.html
