Disneyland, September, 1959. My mom in a close encounter with Walt Disney. When she asked him for an autograph, he politely declined, saying that she could write to his office for one. This seems consistent with what I heard many years ago, that he didn't like to spontaneously hand out autographs because his authentic signature wasn't quite like the official Disney logo.
