A farmer known to my family (but, sadly, not to me) smiles at the photographer - presumably my grandfather - in this early-1950s shot from Honey Grove, Pennsylvania. View full size.
Here's how that Oliver Row Crop 70 would have looked new.
The tractor that Oliver used on Green Acres was a Fordson Model F. You would think that a real company might not appreciate their tractor being renamed a Hoyt-Clagwell, and having the wheels fall off on a regular basis. :-) I can imagine Mr. Haney and his truck full of junk for sale, or maybe "Hank Agent, the County Kimball" in this scenario.
Green acres is the place to be... Even without a Hoyt Clagwell and a 3-piece suit.
