Cobbles

I wonder what they did with all those cobbles when they repaved the streets?

[In some cases they were removed - and may still be found at stonework suppliers, in others paved over only to reappear, as in this recent instance on Liberty St. near Noe. -tterrace]

Next door is 2112?

[The present station is at 2150 California. The structure adjoining it, built in 1926, is numbered 2136; it's seen adjoining the old station in the 1957 photo below. Street numbering apparently changed at some point. -tterrace]

Is that?

Is that a Harley Davidson in front of the house next door?

Modernized into boredom

2114 California Street.

[However, it was located at 2150 California St. and rather than modernized was demolished in 1959 and replaced with the new Fire Station 38 building. -tterrace]
