This was taken by my dad almost certainly on the last weekend in January, 1967. Not only am I reading a book about astronauts with my little bro, but the newspaper on the side table is the L.A. Times. By zooming in, the headline appears to be: "3 Astronauts Killed in Apollo Test. " I was such a follower of the space program, and this photo just renews the sense of tragedy I felt.
