From the collection of film and 4x5 glass negatives I recently purchased. In this photo, the dam, built circa 1906, can be seen. There is a lot more water in the gorge in this photo than one sees today. For the past 10 years or so, the power company had opened the falls on two weekends every year, but all that did was let us see what was lost to the need to generate power.
