Alhambra

The buildings on the left is this view also match the postcard posted by Dave yesterday. Mountains or no, unless the caption of the postcard is wrong these pix were taken in Alhambra.

Many Theaters Along Brand

It appears that Brand used to have many, many theaters besides the Alex (which is still there). Most or all of the others are gone now. I can't make out the theater name on the marquee, but it could be the Cosmo Theater. There is a list of historic Glendale theaters here.

But it doesn't show any on the east side of Brand north of the Alex. So I dunno. If I had an Ancestry subscription I could look in the Glendale City Directory for 1957 they have.

But I think the music store is pretty definitive.

[As it turns out, there was also a Pedrini music store on West Main in Alhambra. - Dave]
