It's All a Blur: 195x

I have no idea what this is about - make up your own story. A found Kodachrome slide from the same metal box that the Women Who Smoke came from. Probably early 1950s. View full size.

Trailer Trash

I interpreted this as camp group vacation photo. The way she is lying on a bed/pillow ticking fabric pattern, and the apparent closeness of the ceiling to her head, caused me to interpret the space she is lying on as some kind of sleeping loft. [Or a berth on a boat. - Dave]

Her outfit also seems like a costume, not something she would wear on an ordinary day.

The porthole would be a way to let light into this trailer or resort cabin, without compromising the sleeper's privacy. Why the group thought it was cute to pose her up there, with all their trashed beer bottles escapes me.

Clearly I would not have felt welcome in her circle of friends.

A Real Woman

I'm quite envious of the person she's drinking with.

Craft beer

The most interesting clue in the photo is the genuine-looking porthole. Together with the low ceiling, it suggests the lady in the sea-foam green dress was already afloat.

Budweiser label

is the same after all these years.

PBR label circa 1947

The PBR label appears to be from about 1947.
Is that possibly a porthole behind her?

Tiny window, low ceiling

Must be a cruising sailboat party moved indoors.

I don't know her story

... but her name must be Trixie.

The Look of Love

Nothing better than a photo of your amorous grandmother.
