That perspective of the capitol has drawn artists and photographers for generations. Here it is on a $2 bill of the Series of 1917. Despite the date appearing on it, the note was printed sometime 1923-27, as determined by the concurrent terms of the two signers.
Years ago my wife and I visited DC. Sat down on those steps to take a breather. Got up took off and wife left her purse on the those steps.
