The name of the dog is Buzz. He belonged to Betty and Joe Shaeffer who lived next door to me. They had no children of their own. But Betty liked children, which meant she liked it if I came over to play with Buzz and copy the things she did such as put on hand cream and tend to her garden. So, like a real life Dennis the Menace and Mister Wilson, I went over to see her as often as I could. By all adult accounts, Buzz grew up to be a vicious watch dog. He bit people, chased them, growled, and barked a lot. Because I knew him from puppyhood, he was always gentle to me. On this day I brought over my doll stroller to play with Buzz. I am guessing that my mother took this picture on our Argus 75 box camera because this is another example of a negative on Kodak 620 Safety Film. I am further guessing that is Mrs Shaeffer’s elbow sticking out of the bathroom at her house in Levittown, Pennsylvania. Scan was made from the negative.
