Umbrella Girl: 1957

Grandma Marie came to visit and brought three year old me a red plaid umbrella as a present. Then my mother wanted to take some pictures of me with her mother. So we went into the back yard. Of course I took the brand new umbrella with us. No matter how much Marie pleaded with me to set the umbrella aside, just a minute, for the picture, I would not. She even tried to bargain a compromise: some pictures with the umbrella, some without.
No deal.
I was hanging on to my new present, no matter what. Photo was taken by my mother. Scan was made from a print.
