July 1943. "Greenville, South Carolina. Men of the medical unit of the 25th Service Group simulating the treatment of a gas casualty." Medium format nitrate negative by Jack Delano for the Office of War Information. View full size.
I noticed the USMC belt buckle and the web belt tab just past the first belt loop. A Google search for "25th Service Group" finds "The 25th Marines was activated on 1 May 1943, at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and was initially manned by Marines from throughout the Northeast. The regiment was subsequently assigned to the 4th Marine Division for service in World War II."
