My Uncle Charles "Sonny" Haile (seen earlier) from his August 5, 1949 company photo in San Diego. He's the 5th sailor from the right on the 3rd row.

Similar to my grandfather's Navy unit photo, I think his was in Columbia, S.C., 1943, he was 19.
What was your uncle's rank and rating? My grandfather was Construction Battalion, 20th Special, Boatswain's Mate First Class. I don't see any patches on the arms of any of these sailors, what unit was this?
