Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

There's definitely some kind of drama going on here. One guy is yawning. But the guy next to him is totally fed up about something, or by the looks of it, someONE in particular.
We'll never ever know.
Holy cow! Get a load of the hat the yawning guy is wearing. It's actually designed. Reminds me of Jughead, of Archie comics. Apparently it was a style among boys in the 1930's to cut the brim of a man's hat and make the crenellations.
