Swimming Hole 1950

Before the town of Dryden, Ontario, built its arena with the enclosed swimming pool, the Wabigoon River was the only supervised swimming area. The vicinity was shared by the diving board, with the roped off swimming pool, and the logs coming down river and under the road bridge (the shaded area in the center). Logs passing under the bridge were sent to the pile at left, which supplied the paper mill with its raw fibre.
