My Grandpa worked on His Majesty's Indian Service - before India became independent and fought in World War II in Malta, Italy - when he was barely 18. This photo was taken when he was fresh in the navy - when he was 16/17. After independence, he continued with the Indian Navy - when he was diagnosed with kidney malfunctions (kidney transplants were unheard of at that time) and started working in an Indian company when, eventually, he died of kidney failure. | Click image for Comments. | Home
