My grandmother Mary (Left) and her sister Marianne in Detroit, sometime in the 1930's. My grandma, her sister and brother Walt were put up for adoption when they were very young. When my grandma was around 15 or 16 she remembered she had a sister and went looking for her. This picture is around the time they found each other, taken in a photo booth downtown Detroit. After some reminiscing they remembered they had a brother. The three had one of the closest bonds between siblings I have ever seen.

Their names are so similar because my grandma's name was changed from Hedwigis when she was adopted. She likes Mary better.
