(To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

1956 Cal Poly Homecoming Parade, San Luis Obispo. They're toasting the coeds because this is the first year Cal Poly had them. I don't know what I.A.S. stands for, but student clubs and societies associated with their majors generally sponsored floats. My brother's 35mm Ektachrome slide. View full size.
