1954 Mercury Monterey

1954 Mercury Monterey

Having just seen Delworthio's photo of a blue Mercury, I couldn't resist posting one of my 1954 Monterey, some twenty years later (1989) and a few thousand miles east of Indiana.

From 1949 to 1956 red wheels

From 1949 to 1956 red wheels were the standard. Wheels that matched the body color cost extra except on the 1954 to 1956 Montclair.

Red wheels

When I bought the car only the roof had been repainted. It originally came with these red wheels, standard or optional I don't know.

Mercs

Beautiful! As an 8 year old tterrace I went gaga over big, luscious tail lights like these. Interesting that the wheels on this one are red, just like those on delworthio's uncle's 1951 model. Was that Merc thing or just a coincidence?
