They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

The photo was probably taken in the Hudson Valley area of New York, but it is not identified on the photo. It may be some type of May Day celebration, but I'm not sure. May, 1932. View full size.
I wonder if they're playing out a fairytale. The Queen has her baby. The elves/dwarves are cute.
I wonder if any of those kids are still around today and would recognize themselves in the picture? Cute picture.
