About the Photos

Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. (To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

Skeeter's Branch Boys

This is Joe Manning. I think I found who these boys are, but the possible descendants didn't seem interested. I haven't given up hope.

Skeeter's Branch Boys

Was this picture a part of the St. Louis Boys that you published eons ago, and Joe Manning had found one of them?

[They're part of this group. Although they're not among Joe Manning's discoveries. - Dave]
