Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.
This is Joe Manning. A man named Miller Kitchell died in Dunklin County, Missouri, on Sept 9, 1940. He was 80 years old. His death certificate gave his occupation as a farmer.
It seems like Miller Kitchell was present at other hangings in Kennett, MO (link).
