Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. (To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.
This isn't really such a mystery: the photographer's blindstamped logo at lower right identifies the location in which he worked -- which likely is within a few miles of the location of the school. An historical society near Palmer, Mass., may be able to pinpoint which school this was. Palmer is just off the Mass. Turnpike (I-90), east of Springfield. Perhaps the Quaboag Historical Society in nearby West Brookfield could direct you. Their secretary's email address is: Mlmerr@mail.ccsinet.net.
