He married Flora Ellen Smith and had a son James Long, daughters Anne Blackwell, Betty LaGrone and Joyce Brock. Heber Otis worked for print shops and had his own printing business and finished his career as a linotype operator at the Greenville News in Greenville, SC. in the late 60's.
