Long walk

Phillips still operates in Borger, "The home of the world's largest inland petrochemical complexes." These tanks (or others exactly like them) are still there. They were probably not left unpainted for very long.
The population of Borger peaked during the war, almost tripling between 1930 and 1950, from 6,532 to 18,059.
