Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. (To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

Circa 1921. "Duesenberg car at White House." Reflecting a modest entourage. National Photo Company Collection glass negative. View full size.
Appears to be a Model J. Even in barn-find condition it's a six-figure buy. One sold at auction a few years back for a cool million.
Big juice brakes all around and an electric starter. Now we can do some high-speed touring!
Hard to imagine nowadays that any model Duesenberg would ever have had visible ripples in the coachwork.
Appears to have an oil leak. Tires could use a good scrubbing. Love the reflection of the photographer on the door panel.
