The family was never wealthy, but mechanical engineers at that time were in demand and paid well (similar to physicians today). One stroller wheel appears to have a chip out of the rubber. My online research leads me to believe that the building in the background is the Central Presbyterian Church. The church building was constructed in 1910 and sits at the corner of Main Street and Jewett Parkway. [Edit 12/10 - Looking at Google maps I realized that I uploaded the image reversed.
