It's around 1942 in New York and here we have my Dad, Merwin Dembling, at right with his trusty 4x5 Speed Graphic camera, as a reporter with the now long-defunct New York newspaper "PM". He's obviously getting the goods on the story. I asked him once what this shot was all about; he said it was something concerning the effect the war effort was having on the nylon stocking industry.
