Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. (To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

The question is, is it a 292 or a 312?
The Cornetts' cars must have been something like Charlie Brown's "kite-eating tree," the only difference being that they sucked the shirt right off you as soon as you popped the hood.
Two of them boys is wearin' shirts.
Well, they're under the hood of a '57 Ford, so we know they're not just Chevy men.
