1955. A rainbow over the campus of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, seems to end on a row of classic 50s cars. The two-tone '53 Olds is nice, but I wish it wasn't obscuring the red-roofed Merc behind it. Shot by my brother, then a freshman there, on 35mm Kodachrome. View full size.
San Francisco Bay, November 30, 1955. The car ferry Klamath heading west to San Rafael from Richmond. We're on board another one heading east. Looking south from the starboard side of our vessel, we'd see this view of the bridge that, when completed, would end the ferry service. My brother shot this on 35mm Kodachrome. But I was there on the boat with him. View full size.
My brother's do-it-yourself hi-fi. From Top: tweeter, woofer, Webcor portable phonograph, Heathkit amplifier. One of his high school buddies assembled the Heathkit for him. He took this in the upstairs bedroom we shared until a year or so later. That's my bed on the right. Check out our cool wallpaper. View full size.
