Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. (To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.
I am 66 years old. I write a column for a weekly NH newspaper. The column is entitled Rambling Through History. The paper's website is www.weirs.com. My column is published every other week. My bio appears on the paper's website. I also am on WBCQ, a 50,000 watt shortwave station broadcasting from Monticello, Maine, although I live in Wolfeboro, NH. WBCQ now transmits on 7.490 mc and I am on the air from 8:10 - 9:00 PM Fridays. I am knowledgeable in vintage radio and automotive history. I love Shorpy and Dave's sometimes caustic comments!
