The Happy Couple: 1948

My parents on their wedding day -- Saturday, February 14th 1948 in front of my Uncle Walt's house in San Mateo, Ca. My dad (24) was still in the Navy and was a survivor of combat in the Pacific and the sinking of the USS Little (DD803) off the coast of Okinawa by kamikazes 3 years previous. A native of Akron Ohio, he passed away in '66. Mom (23) is a native San Franciscan who's still alive and kicking. She still laughs about that hat. View full size.

Good-looking!

That's a really good-looking couple. Your dad's service was awesome, but you'd never know it by the way he's smiling here. Thanks for sharing the photo.
