I went off my usual tack with this one, consciously moving towards a more stylised piece. Existing colourisations give her a peach coloured sash and a green/brown background, which the black and white tones certainly suggest. This one was really an exercise in restraint with tonal variation on the skin in particular, and experiment with iridescent colours on the silk sash; I thought a royal purple background would tie everything together and reference the given title appropriately.
